The 14th Annual Come Home to a Franklin County Christmas will be taking place on December 1st in Downtown Rocky Mount from 5:30p-9p. The event is held annually on the first Friday in December and is organized by the Community Partnership for Revitalization.
The event includes a full schedule of events including a parade, Christmas tree lighting, and horse and buggy rides at The Early Inn. Below is a schedule of events:
- 5:30pm: “Biggest Little Parade”
- 5:45pm: Christmas Tree Lighting
- 6:00pm: The North Pole (at Historic Train Depot)
- 6:00pm: The Friday Night Dance Band (at Farmers Market)
- 6:00pm: Raise the Barre Dancers (at Franklin Glass)
- 6:00pm: Downtown Music
- 6:00pm: Horse and Buggy Rides (at The Early Inn)
Franklin Street will be adorned with white lights, and many food and craft vendors will be available throughout the event.
The Community Partnership for Revitalization was created to restore and preserve historic Downtown Rocky Mount. The volunteer organization was so successful with the project that a second grant was received for revitalization for Uptown Rocky Mount. Both projects have been completed, making both Uptown and Downtown Rocky Mount a more attractive location for established and prospective businesses.
