3 Tips to Help Cool Your Home This Summer

You’ve got the AC blasting while sipping on ice cold water, but you still can’t seem to shake off this intense summer heat. Before you have every fan on Amazon drop-shipped to your front door, check out these easy tips to help stay cool:

Close Doors to Unused Rooms

Leaving all of your doors open during the day will cause your air-conditioning to work extra hard to fill up all of that space. Close off the doors to rooms that you aren’t going to be in and stop sharing all of that precious cold air with empty rooms.

Switch to Cotton Sheets

Cotton stays way cooler than flannel sheets or blankets. Besides, who doesn’t love the thought of crawling into a bed with fresh, crisp linens?

Get Chilly from the Inside

It’s hard to believe that there was a time before air-conditioning, but your ancestors had to get creative if they wanted to cool down. Hop in the shower and lower your body temperature by skimping on the hot water. Keep a cool towel on your head. Some even swear by placing a bowl of ice in front of a fan so that the cold, misty air sprinkles your skin as you sleep.

If all else fails, get your HVAC checked by a certified HVAC professional.
